Half MarathonRace start and finish is located at the Schuetze Recreation Center, 1120 Baxter Street, Waukesha, Wisconsin, 53186. This Recreation Center is in Frame Park, along the Fox River.
The Half-Marathon course covers approximately 6 miles of city streets and sidewalks and 8 miles of improved/asphalt trails (including the Fox River Trail & Glacial Drumlin Trail). The trail is subject to only gentle grades. Runners will experience the scenic views of the historic City of Waukesha, the Fox River and the Kettle Moraine scenery of southeast Wisconsin countryside. The trail crosses city streets and country roads. In the absence of police control, vehicles have the legal right-of-way. Aid stations will be located at the 3, 5, & 7 mile points along the route on the way out. Restrooms facilities will be located at the 3, and 7 mile aid stations and start/finish. The turn around point for the race is located near Aid Station 3 (at Road DT in the Town of Genesee). The finish area at the Schuetze Recreation Center is heated and has showers. For those wishing to view and encourage runners along the course there are several locations that offer this opportunity. Locations include: Parking area adjacent to the E.B. Shurts Environmental Education Center, Aid Station 1 at MacArthur Road, and north side of Sunset Park in the Town of Genesee at S30 W28452 Sunset Drive. Dogs are not allowed in City of Waukesha Parks. Frame Park and Schuetze Recreation Center are both City of Waukesha park areas. Be prepared for any and all weather conditions. |
